Writing Assignment 2: Illustrative Essay

General Directions: Write a 2 ½ to 3 page essay based on one of the three prompts below.  The essay must include a separate reference page.  (NOTE THE REFERENCE PAGE DOES NOT COUNT AS ONE OF THE ESSAY PAGES.)  Follow the directions carefully. The essay should 12 point font, New Times Roman, double spaced and in MLA format.

Prompt 1

Many individuals have supportive families who provide support and nurturing while other have highly negative experiences or may even be harmed by their families. Read the article “Oh, Those Family Values” by Barbara Ehrenreich. Write an essay that illustrates the how families can have a negative or positive impact on their members.  Use examples and ideas from the essay in your article.
