REPORT 1 ( 50 points) Objective For this assignment, you will compare the infrastructure systems of a state in the US using the American Society of Civil Engineers (ACSE) 2017 Infrastructure report card. The main purpose of this assignment is to help you understand the current scenario of the infrastructure system at the state level in the United States Link: https://www.infrastructurereportcard.org/ Format (5 points): 3-5-page paper (min 750 words; excluding pictures, cover page, appendix, and reference), double spaced pages, one-inch margins, 12-point font. Follow the American Psychological Association citation format. Introduction (3 points) State the main purpose of the assignment. Provide brief information on the selected state and provide key findings of your study. ACSE Report card and grading system (5 points) Provide an overview and history of the ACSE Report card system. Describe the overall grading system and identify the various non-transportation infrastructure systems evaluated in the report card. State Profile (10 points) Provide the following information for the select state: Total Population; Population density; Geography and physical characteristics; Median age; Median income; Race and Ethnicity; Poverty Rate; Median home price; any other relevant information. Use charts/ graphs to reinforce your findings. Use reliable sources such as United States census fact finder. Furthermore, provide information on key non-transportation infrastructure systems. Refer to newspaper articles to provide additional information. Discussion of non-transportation infrastructure transportation systems (10 points) Discuss the facts of non-transportation infrastructure systems of the select state. Briefly describe how the state scores in relation to the rest of the United States. Analyze whether the profile of the state may explain the infrastructure scores of that given state.

Economic Impact (5 points) Discuss the impacts of the failure to act for at least two infrastructure systems. Use the infrastructure facts of the state to discuss the overall economic impacts. Conclusion (3 points) Summarize the key findings and indicate the infrastructure systems that need immediate attention for the given state. Include additional evidence from newspaper articles and class readings.
